I have a really dumb question.. If someone has been married for 8 years, but the husband left after about a week & a half, is the marriage still legal? or is it wiped off the books??

It may depend what country you live in. If you're in the USA or Canada, I'm sure that you would still be legally married. You should consult a lawyer about it.

Been married 17 years now and have not lived together in 14 yes I am and you are still married by law

still legal, you have to take steps to wipe it off the books, the state does not go around making sure that married couples are still together and happy

It is still legal until you divorce him... Is he coming back to you or has he abandoned you... Do you know where he went to? If he has abandoned you get a lawyer and file for divorce if need be.

you are still legally married. You still have to go thru a divorce, IT is not hard to do. most courts have a library that you can go thru and do it yourself.
