It's to play serious sam 2. I bought it as a gift for my girl without checking the minimum requirments.

Buy a 2Ghz cpu check out tigerdirect.com they will be the cheapest but make sure ur motherboard will support the cpu u buy

Overclock it. You an do that by getting into your systems BIOS. You can get into it by pressing what ever button your computer tells you to when it goes through its startup screen. It will say something like "press F2 to enter setup". After that I'm not really sure, as I have never overclocked a PC, but I have read quite a bit on it.
You dont really have to get it to 2GHz either. 1.79 should be close enough so I wouldnt worry about it. The game should work just fine, but unless its really slow dont overclock it.

Best advice anyone can give you at the moment because you havent given us enough information about the system to advise further i.e. what brand / make / model / motherboard etc

You might be able to get it closer to 2 GHz free. The processor should have a crystal on it that it uses to time its calculations. You can have it process the calculations faster, if you can find a way to turn the crystal.

Dont worry, I think its possible to play that game on your PC, i found The most important in gaming is VGA and RAM, Do yours fit it?
