1- The population density of worms in a particular field is 25 worms per cubic meter of soil.How many worms would there be in the top meter of soil in a field that has dimensions of 1.00 k by 1.5 k?

2- Convert:
a. 61 F to C
b. -7F to C
c. -41C to F
d. 63C to F

3- Antarctica has an area of 5,500,000 mi^2 w/ an average height of 7500 ft.Without the ice, the height is 1500ft.Estimate the Mass of this ice (2 Significant Figures).

2- I'm not sure if they are right. Also what's the "rule" with Significant Figures when it comes to Temp Conversion? Are my sig figs okay?

1) I'm assuming k = kilometers? usually written Km

volume of your field = 1 Km x 1.5 Km x 1 Km = 1.5 Km^3

worms = 1.5 km^3 x (1000 m / km )^3 x (25 worm / m^3)
= 3.8 x 10^10

2) C to F - > (1.8 x C) + 32
F to C - > (F-32) / 1.8

3) mass = volume x density right?
so volume = area times height. but watch units and watch height of land

V = 5.5 x 10^6 mi^2 x (5280 ft / mi)^2 x (7500 - 1500 ) ft = 9.2 x 10^17 ft^3

mass = 9.2 x 10^17 ft^3 x (12 in / ft )^3 x ( 2.54 cm / in )^3 x (.917 g / cm^3) = 2.4 x 10^22 grams
