I can't remember exactly where, but earlier, the Weasly twins try to get Ron to make a blood oath. It is explained then that a blood oath is impossible to break. In the last book Snape is cornered into helping Malfoy by Malfoy's mother. She has him make it a blood oath. OK here is what I think. All along Dumbledore already has a blood oath with Snape. Dumbledore is constantly telling Harry he trusts Snape completely, but never says why. Snape could have easily pulled off an illusion making it look as if he killed Dumbledore. Even though a blood oath is unbreakable, I am sure a previous blood oath would take priority over a more recent one. Get the idea?
And Umbridge, at the funeral? Why? Perhaps Dumbledore in disguise?
As far as the final outcome if it all, I see these possibilities:
(1) Harry must sacrifice himself to destroy ole Valdy. Both die.
(2) Harry destroys Valdy but looses all of his own powers as well as the scar.
(3) Harry kills Valdy and survives unhurt. Perhaps he goes on to be a legendary wizard surpassing even Merlin.
(4) This was all a fantasy world Harry was playing in while stuck at his aunt and uncles house after his parents really did die in a car crash. Or similarly
(5) Harry wakes up as it was all a dream.
I hate those last two. Unlikely but possible.

I think that Dumbledore is dead. Harry will kill Voltermort. Ginny will die Harry will not return to Hogwarts as a student but he will return as a teacher. Hermine and Victor Crum get married. Prof. Snape or Hagrid will die. I hope Harry and Cho Chang get together after Harry destroys Voltermort.

I think dumbledore and snape are in cahoots and this is all some great scheme. At least that's my hope. Harry just HAS to kill voldemort in the end. And if Harry dies I will be very very angry! I love the books as the students get older. They get way more interesting and more spellbinding(no pun intended).

Dumbledore IS dead. When he said "severus, please" he was ordering Snape to kill him so he can continue his role as a double agent, and he won't have to brake the unbreakable vow. He'll be able to communicate to Harry through means of the portraite of himself on the headmaster's(headmistress's) office and even share the story of destroying the Horcrux in the ring.
IMHO: Why would Voldermote try to kill Harry if he really has made Harry one of his Houcruxes??? So the Harry sacrifice himselt theory won't work.

My theories-
DD isn't dead, just a set up to get V to think DD is out of the picture.
I think Harry is V's last horcrux... so I think it comes down to Harry having to sacrifice himself to kill V, so either Harry or DD will kill V in the end, but Harry doesn't survive.

i reckon that harry and voldemort will be duelling and then something happens and they both die!!! another theory is that mabye snape will kill harry because when dumbledore was alive noone could touch harry but now hes dead anyone can touch harry

Mine:
Harry and his friends will somehow save the day against impossible odds.
Snape will seem evil but is actually good.
Ron will be a f'in twerp.
There will be many irrelevant scenes that will be there mainly for effect.
Harry will seem cold and distant and get laughed at.
THe little blonde kid will be a jerk, but get his comeuppance in the form of public humiliation.
Etc. etc - all these are the same movie, you know.

i think there will b a final showdown with harry and voldemort (he who must not be named lolz) and i really dont want to think that dumbledore is dead so hopefully jk rowling has an excuse for that, and i also think this will be the book that ron and hermoine get together

Harry has to kill himself so that v will not be able to obtain the final horcrux...himself. Ginny will die. Snape will be good in the end.
