It hurts a lot to think and write my following note. My friend's brother is a alcohol addict, After consumption he turns into a virtual demon, fighting, abusing, screaming at all living beings even on his own mother and other members.. But when he's sober he is quite like a kitten. His behaviour and attitude is extremely negative and it enhances after drinking sessions.
If a psychologist, reads this question here, can you please advice us how to handle this situation?

When he is sober and in a good state a mind do an intervention to show him how serious his problem is..Especially when there are more then one person there he might take the problem more serious.
I know that is you brother but....sorry you and your family just might have to cut off all ties...especially if he is treating his own mom bad..
My father was like that once alcohol got into his system RUN!!!

Alcohol consumption definely changes some people's behavior, personality, perception,...you name it. It's a negative for most people, tho some people can get away w/some consumption w/o acting bad. How 4 u 2 handle the situation? Give that person plenty of room. Exit, stage left. YOU don't hafta handle it, it's up to him to get a handle on it.

the problem is ~the person is locked up~these are people that have been the subject of there behavior to the point that no matter what they do their damned if they do and their damned if they don't they problems lies in the person~they have to resolve to stop the habit of learning~they are not drinking the problem~they have learned the problem~all people end up on one way streets in their minds~when this happens they still push all the buttons in their minds to do what they want but the results that worked along time ago don't have consistency in them, we no longer are locked in to a present America where we can have the same predictability we once had and the stress is blowing all of us apart faster than it can be analyzed as a product of our own government~cause as each person is responsible for them selves lets the government off the hook for betraying the educational roll;; that got these people here~so he has to stop pushing the wrong buttons inside himself~tell him this so he can resolve the habit of doing himself no favor in not rewiring his attitudes to survive

Well i heard says it does not but it lowers a persons inhibtions. You don't need to be a psychologist to know this person needs professional help. AA is a good source for this and would probably be a first step, but unless he is willing to admit he has a problem first nothing he probably not be able to get better.
