Will you miss her commentary? for those unfamilar with Molly she was a widely read nearly 400 papers nationwide reporter and Texan and a voice in the wilderness of this place called the United States of Republican Stupidity. In 2003, she coined the term "Great Liberal Backlash of 2003." She is also creditted with the nickname "Shrub" for George W. Bush, who had misunderstood the Spanish word Arbusto when he selected it as the name for one of his companies. She was a opinionated lady and a helluva reporter who kept an eagle on "Shrub" and his cronies. And I for one am really gonna miss her.

Yes I heard she had died, having read of almost every article, book and personaly attended one of her open forums and book promotions and viewed many more taped and live castings I feel saddened at her death.
I note the askers mention of "opinionated lady" in a positive light and well it should be.
Her opinion pieces were backed with the facts her many years of gaining support by her journalistic integrity of man and woman of power no matter the party.
That is up until the Bush family arrived in Texas, gained the support of Karl Rove and the far right Christian wackos, who whenever anyone points out a fault of their duplicity is immediatley attacked and burnt at he stake for their trnasgressons.
Molly took them all on and by using two ingredients, truth and integrity< one and the same> along with strength of character and body, she remained a "Lady" worth knowing and emulating.
She took on all members of the politcal establishment and criticized any who were lyers and two faced SOBs' as she called them and gave back tow blows of truth for evry one blow of the lies against her.
Journalism lost a sttrong advocate of Independence and Integrity but the greatest loss will be to the American populace who believe in a free and honest politcal system.
There sure as hell does not seem to be many left who dare speak their minds out there, or is it maybe that there are not many minds left who can make up their own minds.
I would rather have this brash woman talking truth than all the boobs for bombs and the Ann coulters tramps for Mollie never sold herself to the highest bidder, she was much to much a woman of her own to do so.

I will absolutely miss her commentary. She sure knew how to turn a phrase.
And her book "Bushwhacked" is sadly as relevant today as it was the day she wrote it - with current news telling of "Shrubs" initiatives to dilute Sarbanes-Oxley stock market reforms.

I'll miss her too. I had not heard of it until I saw your post, and so I checked. Wow, 62 is so young. She was awesome. One of my favorite quotes of Molly Ivins is:

"You know, deep, deep, down, Bush is really shallow."

And it's a glorious day because of it. The hateful, disrespectful, liberal b*tch in hell now.
