Both i grew up with both a cat and a dog,but i have 3 cats myself.
i would love a dog,but when i get home at night. Walking a dog is the last thing i wanna do, or right before i go to bed. cats are so much more easy to take care of......

Hi James, Cats are okay,but no one truely owns a cat. Hands down i love dogs. Makes a very good companion,trusting,loyal,and protecter. I have 3 great dogs myself. A Friend

You DO pose a point.
What to consider in a choice of either Dog or Cat is the accommodations. - Will the 4-leg have access to outside accomodations (a seperate placing for food & water) outdoors or are they allowed total access to indoor accommodations? - Consider having your cat de-clawed if they are to stay indoors!
The BREED of either 4-leg is also a major consideration. - Will the Great Dane have planty access to run outdoors; will the Siamese cat have a shelf to climb upon to rest?

Half a dozen of one or six of the other as long as they are yard dogs and barn cats that can stay outside most of the time.

Cats~ because if you leave on vacation you can put out enough food and water for them and make sure their litter box is clean and know that they are ok til you get back!

I like both but the way my life is right now, a cat is much easier. I may get another dog if I get a job surveying in the boonies, but right now, My one cat is cool. obvoiusly there is a cat hating thumbdowner lurking around here!

Dogs. They run to the door and are always happy to see you and have tons of personality. Not a cat person, but have "gone" through many over the years with my kids....and our cats stunk, even though we changed the litter often.....

Dogs anytime...unlike cats who always mess the neighbours house except their own..they are intolerable..disgusting.
