There are multiple ways to control the situation:

1) Try to leave the area so you can calm down
2) Try to sit down and take deep breaths
3) Get some water to drink

In the past I have reacted right away when the right thing to do is to calm yourself down and evaluate the situation.

when the confluent forces of life put you off balance and you succumb to anger all you can do is apologize and explain . then look at the cause and plan not to let it happen again .the last time it got the best of me I had to plea for my job back.
