im currently not working due to me just having our second child..ends meet but not to have fun and my spouse just wont understand that we cant just splurge all the time and that we need to have savings. we constantly argue about it daily..it seems..and i know its not healthy..ive suggested counseling for us but he wont go for it..and i hate that we argue becuase its over such a stupid thing..any suggestions on how to ease a budget into our lifestyle?

Pay yourself first! And pay the habit second. That means, as soon as the check comes in, pull 5-10% out and put it in your savings account or hide it under the bed. Then, take half of whatever you saved, and throw it in the "Fun Fund". He'll be less likely to spend $100 if he knows you only have $100 of fun available. :) Also, clearly define what splurging is. Often times, guys see going out to dinner as a way to do something nice for you or the kids. And anyone who works all the time sometimes feels like buying pretty things. Try to budget that sort of thing in-- saving isn't as important as keeping your relationship together.

You could probably also cut down expenses by finding funding for basic foods and such for your kids, provided by the government for single income homes. Look into it! Your electricity bill could be cut in half, etc.
