Do you like the way it sounds when you pronounce mai tran? Another name to consider is mei lin.

Is tran pronounced as train? If so give the baby a break, when she gets in her teens quite a few jokes could be made with a name like that and NOT NICE ONES!!!!!!

I think it is a beautiful name, but she might get a lot of "May" growing up. My best friends name is Mai (pronounce My-ee) and she is constantly being called May.

I like the name by itself but not with the last name. With a one syllable last name, the first name needs at least two syllables. What about Maylin or Diem?

I will be honest i don't think I woudl choose that name. I don't really know of any other "asian sounding" names...but i just think that with both names being just one sylable the name may not flow nicely....BUT!!! You are the mother..you will make the right choice and your daughter wil have a beautiful name!..lol..that is just my own personal opinion!...**CONGRATS!**
