Not a lot of people in general exercise their right to vote. Why that is probably depends somewhat on which country you're asking about. Reasons to vote, or not to vote, differ from person to person.
Personally, I vote because otherwise I have no right to complain. I vote because the USA is going to hell in a handbasket and that needs to change.
I'm tempted not to vote because it's frustrating to have to choose the lesser of two evils instead of choosing the BETTER candidate. I'm tempted not to vote because I live in a state that nearly always votes Blue, so my largely-Democratic votes are unlikely to make a difference one way or another. I'm tempted not to vote because it's becoming increasingly clear that not everyone's vote counts, so it seems a bit pointless.
There's no single answer to your question, of course, but the US Census has lots of statistics about voting, and there's an excel table of reasons for not voting among the tables here: http://www.census.gov/population/www/socdemo/voting/cps2004.html>here.

Where did you get that idea from -- not many women voting? I've never heard that before. Not enough /people/ vote, period...I don't think it's more women than men or vice versa.
People who don't vote are lazy. And someone who tells you that they don't vote because there isn't someone worth voting for is too lazy and shallow to exercise their RIGHT and OBLIGATION to earn their place in a democratic society

I think you are talking about the eastern societies.... yes you are right that not much of women use their votes but as far as those are concerned who cast theirs feel that they can bring the right change in the society. They feel them self to be an important part of the society as their opinion is being valued.

I don't know why more women don't vote. Laziness? It's really sad. I think of the generations of women before us who fought so hard for the right to vote. Why put all of their hard work to shame? I am grateful to or fore-mothers for all of their hard work and will continue to exercise my right to vote. I wish more women would.

Because it's our right, and if we don't use it, we're just wasting it. It would be like we didn't have it at all.
