depends on the interviewer. If interviewer is laid back, they may ask you easy questions and will give you the time of day. If the interviewer is a biatch or an azz, then there is no way you can please them and they may not hire you anyway, even if you kiss azz with them,so look for another store to work at. There's no point of working with toxic employers anyway. Toxic people will make you physically and/or mentally sick. Stress is what causes illnesses and diseases. If you work with toxic people and they don't have any benefits like health or dental insurance, there's no point. There will be jobs out there, so keep trying. Be persistent. Someone will hire you. If you don't get a job right away, then go to more job interviews and the more you practice interview questions. Here are some interview questions you can practice on while getting a job at retail stores. These are just examples to help you warm up:

1) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
2) Why should I hire you?
3) Do you feel comfortable with working with different kinds of customers, especially irate customers? Please explain.
4) Do you feel that "Customers are always right?" Please explain.
5) Have you ever been convicted of a crime or a felony? (they ask this question because you will have to use the cash register and have access to customers money)
6) How do you handle difficult situations?
7) Why did you leave your last job? (only if this applies)
8) Have you ever worked in customer service before?
9) Are you a people person? Can you get along with your co-workers?

Hope this helps!

In a clothing store they ask questions like this :

A man walks up to you he has a pair of flip flops, sunglasses and a short sleeved shirt, what does he need to finish his outfit?

Answer: A nice pair of shorts. Or

They will ask you: A distingushed lady walks into the mens section she needs dress clothes for her husband for tonight. What would you sell her?

Answer: A black siut, Grey colored shirt with a very nice tie, black shoes and a black belt. [ something to that extent] (elaborate, say you would first find out where they were going, was it a business dinner or pleasure dinner..etc)

Also they will ask you who comes first the person on the telephone or the person in the store?

Answer: person in the store. Take a number and offer to call telephone person back.

Basic things like Greeting people when they first walk in the store, make eye contact with customers, don't hover over them, but still keep a watchful eye. Be suggestive in your sales etc to get the best sale!

Good Luck!!

The same reason people avoid me when I pass the pink frilly dresses, make up, and high heels to go get boots and a baggy shirt with skulls. I'm not a cross dresser, I just don't do pink or dresses or really anything that would be considered majorly girly.
