At the end of the World War I, when the armies of Allied States occupied The Ottoman Empire and the British officials among them arrested 143 Ottoman political and military leaders and intellectuals for “having committed war crimes toward Armenians” and exiled them to Malta where a trial was launched. However, the massive scrutiny made on the Ottoman, British, American archives in order to find evidence to incriminate these 143 persons failed to produce even the least iota of proof against them. In the end, the detainees in Malta were released without trial and even any indictment in 1922.

an interesting explanation from the pages of history. if i understand your question -- it is the "Armenian question" of what happened during the Ottoman regime..in the 1920's. it is an
enigma best explained by historians -- with
conflicting points of view -- and some newly un-earthed documents found in the
archives of the old Russia -- after communism fell. whatever the cause -- acceptance or rejection will not change the historical facts -- many, too many lives were lost on both sides -- thus our resolve should be how we can provide
better guidance to the future generations. hope it helps.

Web page referred by you is to set the record right. My sincere advise to all is to take a lesson from European Union. All former foes are friends. The reason is that their leaders are sincere in welfare of their people instead of complaining against each other. Armenian case is not an isolated case. World Wars have brought havoc to humanity. Massacre in Bosnia and Rwanda right under nose of UN are blot on our world. Promote love and understanding for a prosperous world.

Although, undeniably there was a Holocaust in 1915 against the Armenian people. It remains one of several intractable problems that preclude entry to the 'European Union' by Turkey.
