The quality of the sound gets better in mp3 and you also get 5.1 surround effect in Mp3 format. And also that Mp3 consumes 10 times less space than wma.

MP3 format can be played on anything, including (especially) devices which haven't paid fees to Microsoft for WMA compatibility.Â You'll also be able to convert MP3 to other formats, while WMA may be restricted by DRM.
