I have a friend who is somewhat shy, like I am. He's had this crush on this girl forever and is finally going to go out with her. We talk everyday online and now that he's going to go out with her, he's either stopped talking to me or all conversations have turned awkward. He never told me he was going out with her yet, my other friend told me about it and it said it in his blog thing too. How come he's acting this way? Does it mean he doesn't want to be friends with me or is this just how guys act?

No it doesn't mean that, he's too happy , so he is focusing all his attention to her , and he doesn't want to take any chances, he may think that if his new girlfriend finds out about you that she will find it unacceptable and he will lose her lol.
Just accept that he won't be talking to you everynight like he used to. And also remind him not to be a stranger, and he can talk to you at anytime.

Sometimes friendships have blurred lines and without admitting it to ourselves a friend can start to fill a role that ends up being more appropriate for a romantic relationship. It sounds like one or both of you ended up in that position. I've gone through it. It sucks. No way around it. If you have feelings for him beyond those of friendship, talk to him about it. If you just feel like he's being a wierdo and treating you differently now that he has a girlfriend and you think that's a lame thing for a friend to do, then tell him what's up. Be honest. If's he's worth your friendship then you will be able to figure it out. You can only control your own actions, no one else's. No matter how hard you try.

Maybe he thinks you may not approve of his new mate? He might be affraid of your opinion. Hopefully this girl won't lead him down the wrong path. Sometimes we out grow people as well. Not knowing exactly the situation I can only speculate. Maybe talk to him and ask. He might also think it will hurt you incase you were thinking your friendship was more? It could be a little of everything. He is probably distracted.

as simple as this question sounds ive never come across it before. i honestly dont know what to tell you. because if you guys were just friends from the beginning why would things be ackward just because he got a girlfriend? unless his girl is a jealous one and knows about you and has asked him to stop talking to you as much as he used to. if he has such a big crush on her it might be hard for him to stand up to her (cus if thats the case she aint right) especially now that he finally has her. confront him about it and he'll crack and tell you whats going on, if there IS something going on. if not he'll probably apologize for the behavior and never do it again.

Maybe he thinks you have feelings for him and he doesn't want to hurt you. It could of course be the fact that he spends more time with his girlfriend and can no longer find the same amount of time for you. His girl might be mad at his relationship with you and has told him to stop but he doesn't want to and at the same time doesn't want g/f to know he's still friends with you. Maybe you should ask him what's going on

Could be his new girl is jealous. Could be he's afraid she will be. Could be he's just caught up in his new relationship now.
