There isn't one for the remake (Time Burton) version. However, there were I believe 5 sequels plus the original-
Planet of the Apes
Return to Planet of the Apes
Escape from Planet of the Apes
Beneath the Planet of the Apes
Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
Battle for the Planet of the Apes
There is also a "Behind the Planet of the Apes," but I'm not sure that was truly a sequel.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes should be considered the sequel to the original since it was the second film of the series and picked up where the original stopped. Charlton Heston also had a cameo in this film, but the main star was James Franciscus. For people who have seen this movie, it is obvious why a sequel to it could not be made. The other films, Return, Escape, etc. should be considered prequels.

The original Planet Of The Apes series was 5 movies long. The first two movies did great at the box office but the last 3 suffered because of the message "humans are evil" put movie goers off.
I suggest you watch the original series if you want more ape action.

I think there were 6 sequels to the original Planet of the Apes with Charlton Heston. I remember the second one was Beneath the Planet of the Apes then Escape from planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, Battle for Planet of the Apes, Return to Planet of the Apes and Behind Planet of the Apes. And yes they got progressively worse. I don't even think they needed to remake the original -which I do happen to like.

"Planet of the Apes" (the original with Charlton Heston) is one of my favorite movies of all time, having possibly one of the best endings a movie could have.
As far as the "second part" you're talking about, do you mean a sequel? If so, there was one called: "Return to the Planet of the Apes" (no Charlton, tho).
Hope you can find the sequel - pretty certain Blockbuster would have it. Enjoy!

I'm assuming you mean Planet of the APES. There are several films in the series, but they are the originals from around the 70's. The new one probably didn't gain as much of a following as they liked, so they didn't continue...but who knows, there still may be hope.

If you mean the Tim Burton version, it's simply because Tim Burton does not do sequels. Beetlejuice was a success, and there was enough material there for a second movie. A least more than some sequels are based on.

I am assuming you mean the Tim Burton version starring Mark Wahlberg. And the answer is the first received mediocre word-of-mouth and suffered steep drops at the box office after a powerful opening weekend.

I think their afraid to because the Original Planet of the Apes had about 3 sequals and each one got dumber and dumber.
