I'm Canadian, fascinated with kinkajous and having difficulty ascertaining whether one can have one as a pet here. Is it too cold? Is it legal. Please help.

You would have to contact your local municipal office for that information.
I do know for a fact that Sugar Gliders are illegal to have in Ontario and rats are illegal in Algerta but I don't know about kinkajous. It depends on your provence and city/town.

Please update to let me know ok? I'm interested in learning what you find out.

Kinkajous aren't really legal anywhere unless you're a rescue organization or a zoo. It is much colder in Canada than in the tropical Amazons where they're originally from, but you can try to obtain a liscence. They are expensive and practically impossible to get so good luck. Then again, you can illegally smuggle one in, but you could face some charges if someoen finds out.
