the sewing awl i have is like the speedy stitcher sewing awl, with the bobbin in the handle. any help i can get on the use will be greatful for.

Is it something like this? I don't have pictures of it in use, but you need to have a thread on the underside that you pass through the loop you make pushing the awl into the material and partially withdrawing it. Push it through the material and then pull it partially out. It shoudl create a loop in the thread by the eye of the awl. Thread the thread through this loop and remove the awl. Move over to do the next stitich. My dad has one and we figured his out the other day.
