OK, first of all im 15. I have sooo many blackheads all over my nose. They are everywhere! I have tried blackhead clearing scrubs and steaming my face, then washing, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have an at home remedy that ACTUALLY works at getting rid of them. 10 points if your soulution works!! thanks

Kayla, if you've tried washing, scrubs, and soaps you need to see a physician. You may have a bacterial infection, not just acne, and need antibiotic treatment to take care of it. Try putting a little antibiotic ointment on some of your blackheads before you go to sleep at night after washing up and see if that helps a little. It'll feel greasy, but if the problem is bacterial you should notice improvement (moderate). The problem is the infection may be all over in your skin & even in your blood, so you should really talk to a doctor.

You shouldn't have to wash your face more than twice a day, and that with a gentle cleanser such as Neutrogena's oil-free acne wash or neutrogena's "deep cleanser formula 3". Good luck, but I don't think there are any quick-fixes.

p.s.
Have you looked at your diet for things you might be allergic to? I had horrible acne from soy-conatining producst for awhile.

Well, I don't know if I'll earn your ten points but you are on the right track with steaming. The main thing you want to do is to open your pores. In a way you are lucky that you have blackheads which come out, rather than whiteheads which are buried. Steam your face, wash with a good OIL-FREE cleanser and apply any Benzoyl Peroxide gel or solution (Walgreen brand is fine) to the affected areas. If you do this at least once a day and twice when you have time, I am quite certain you will see some great results. Good luck!

What you put into your body is just as important as what you put on your face! So I would recommend drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily, eating plenty of fresh fruit and veges and exercising regularly.

Reasons why:
- Water because it flushes all the toxins out and hydrates your body (including your skin - your largest and most apparent organ)
- Fresh fruit and vegetables as many are rich sources of vitamins and anti-oxidants which help cell growth within the skin and prevent pimples
- Exercise because it increases the amount of blood (therefore oxygen) replenishing your skin cells and releases toxins

With regards to products, many blackhead pore strips can be found in pharmacies and are effective at drying out and removing blackheads on your nose.

Also, always make sure that you wash your hands before you wash your face!!

I know this will work, it only takes a matter of days to see differences in complexion and reduction of blemishes purely from diet and lifestyle. It works for me!

I am 47 years old and I still have blackheads just don't squeeze them and I tell you this may sound like a guy shouldn't do it but I got 3 suggestions I do know the number one thing that takes mine away is go to a tanning bed and get a tan in winter mine are worse and if i join in 3 weeks they are pretty much gone but the obvious one i squeeze out then wash my face and hit the tanning bed. number two use ANEW by avon it is for moisturizing and keeping away wrinkles but what it does is it gently removes the old layer of dead skin so black heads goes with it. Now you can't do tanning bed and use anew coz the anew keeps taking away your tan . ok Listen im going to try this myself go buy some vitiam e caspule and with something sharp poke hole in it and squeeze the oiment out and over your face it is a natural healer

Hi Kayla!!!

First of all all of the advises are good, but they are lacking of one very important detail!!!!

Your problem, could be, your diet, not enough water intake,
allergic reaction to either soap, or chemicals used on your skin.

But the most important thing is that your PORES ARE TO DILATED!!! By having delated pores, the sweat, chemicals, oil from your hair, and eviroment also dirt, gets trapped into the pores, nad infecting it!!!

The first thing to do is to treated with wet steamed clean towels, to open the pores completly. (leave on as long as it 's steam coming out!! NOT TO BURN YOURSELF!!!

Then Apply a cleasing soap,(medicated) as some others told you. DO NOT SCRUB!!!
( scrubbing could develope an add different problem).

Then after cleasing, (there are cleasing treatments, that warm up as you wash your skin), rinse very well. Then apply ASTRINGENT,(desinfectant). DO NOT RINSE!!! Apply towels of cold water to your face to close (or to constrict) the pores then
apply a skin humentant, about a dime size, all over your skin!!!

This would take some time at the beggining, until you get use to it, but you will NOT regret, doing this!! DO NOT WEAR ANY MAKE -UP until the condition clears up!!!!

Exersice & eat healthy, drink lots of water. If you go out and feel your skin oily or sweaty, inmediately wash it up with medicated soap and warm water, follow quikly with cold water, to close the pores, back again!!!

Proactive is a very good product, also is MURAD, this is what I use. After your skin clears up, buy one of the hypoallergenics make-ups, and use it daily. It would be good one with SPF, To protect you skin, from ultra-violet sun rays.

Of course that if you could go to the dermatologist, would be best and safer, as my advise is very general, and I'm no match for a doctor. But doing this regurlarly, has kept me from visiting the doctor, and spending money as well!!!

You should consult a doctor if you are way to concern!!!

I wish you the best, and a healthy and glowy complexion!!!

GOD BLESS YOU & HAPPY LIFE

A.Z.

what bout those strips u stick on and they extract the gunk, they are available from the chemist, I have used a sorbelene based body wash which is PH neutral so as not to affect the skin with harsh chemicals, use it to soften up the pores and wash off after is has been aloud to absorb a bit. there is no quick fix, it comes down to a regular cleansing routine. Good luck - ps if your face feels greasy, try to increase your intake of water, as you may be dehydrated, which in turn creates greasy skin.

not my own experience but a friend said she washes her face with Noxzema then uses alcohol on a cotton ball over entire face then applies egg whites to the problem area(s). When it dries she washes off with warm water. She said it gives her a clean, toned look free of blackheads.

You could try those nosestrips that you wet and put on your nose, and it pulls out blackheads and anything else in the pores. Neutrogena is really good for skin too.
