I would recommend calling the substance abuse authority in your area but I would suggest maybe getting his family involved if at all possible so that you don't get stuck in the middle. I do not think somebody can be arrested for pain killer addiction and the only way he could be arrested for physical abuse is if his girlfriend presses charges (and it doesn't sound like she will).

Maybe not 911. First try an abuse hotline (look in you phone book). His girlfriend does NOT deserve this, and needs to get away from it. He is addicted, which is extremly bad for his health. He needs help. If an abuse hotline doesnt work, then maybe go to his parents? Then go to 911. Do whatever it is to fix the problem, becuase it needs to be taken care of.

Yes, she should stay away from him. Call the police and have him arrested if he does abuse her, and tell the police she wants to have a Protection From Abuse order put on him so he can't come near her. There has to be an incident going on before they'll do anything. The best thing to do would be to have her stay clear of him, don't let him in if he comes over, don't answer his phone calls. He's the only one who can help himself. Though if she has any bruises, she should go to the ER, tell them what happened and have them photographed. No one deserves this crap. Just please think safety, and let the police handle anything that's happening. Good luck!

FIRST OFF, I AM SO SORRY THAT THIS IS HAPPING TO YOU. WOW. I CANT EVEN BELIVE IT. I THINK YOU SHOULD TELL SOMEONE YOU KNOW THAT YOU REALLY TRUST THAT WONT OVER REACT AND DO SOMETHING STUPID. TALK TO HIS GIRLFRIEND. THEN SEE IF YOU CAN TELL SOME ONE LIKE A POLICE OFFICER YOU SEE OR DO CALL 911 THE NEXT TIME HE ABUSES HER. THAT IS HORRIBLE. IMAGINE HOW THE GIRL FEELS. THAT MUST REALLY SUCK. YOU DONY HAVE TO GO OUT WITH HER, JUST COMFORT HER FIRST OFF. SHE HAS GONE THROUGH SO MUCH CRAP. THEN IT WOOULD BE OK.

calling 911 is the best thing you can do for him and his girlfriend. if he keeps abusing drugs the way he is now, he will end up killing himself or someone else. he needs to be in drug rehab where he can get clean and get his life back together.
Best Wishes
