In most places, you can't sell a house with electric heat. I assume you are in some special place where electric heat will not cause you to go bankrupt. If you are in a moderate climate, you should look at a heat pump if you want electric heat. Otherwise, I would do baseboards since you can control each room, and putting them on outside walls will reduce feeling of drafts. I don't like electric furnaces, they seem to dry everything out. Seems like the worst of all worlds. The main cost of an electric furnace might be upgrading the electric service. Make sure whoever gives you a quote checks your current service to make sure it can handle the draw of electric heat.

Changing to electric heat (heat pump) will cost a few thousand - depending on the size of your house. Using baseboard heaters may be the way to go. Just remember that a baseboard heater pretty much ties up the outlet it is plugged into. In another word, kind of like your microwave, you can't really plug anything in with the heater or it will trip the breaker (or blow the fuse, whichever you have).

Oh boy! sufficient mentioned. to respond to your question, the cost may well be ridiculous to function electric powered warmth vs. gasoline warmth. stay with gasoline!

There's no reason to change to electric. The price of electricity is skyrocketing and the price of natural gas is coming down.
