I live here- it sucks. Its an ice box 9 months out of the year and hell + humidity for 3 months out of the year. There are so few jobs that everyone has to move to another state to get a job. The crime rate is high. The roads are bad. Overall, Michigan sucks. As soon as I graduate from grad school in 2 years my husband and I are moving out of this state. I would NOT want to raise my children here.

I'll give it credit, up north is beautiful and the fall is gorgeous. Beautiful lakes....I love mackinac island....but for us the goods don't out weight the bad. Michigan is a great vacation destination.

Not bad if u have vacation house on the lake but rest of time there is really no reason to live there. Detriot is like fricken Beirut - abandon buildings, abandon vehicals along the highway, and a dying economy - The end of Ford GM and DCX -. If u want to go there in the fall and see leaves and happy things like that - i suppose that is nice.

Was born there, but moved away when I was 7. Used to go back to visit relatives. It's cold in the winter but my family loved the four seasons. I don't remember the Upper Pennisula but my family tells me it's really pretty. Ann Arbor is a great college town.

I have been to St. Joseph, Benten Harbor, Berring Springs, Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo and as far as I'm concerned Michigan can fall off the earth and it wouldn't make a difference to me
