The velocity of light is exactly 299,792,458 metres per second, while the velocity of sound is determined by certain factors such as humidity of the atmosphere, density of the medium in which sound travels etc. In case of using air as the medium the velocity of sound is 330-340 metres per second.
The perfect example is when it thunders. You can see the light before you get to hear the sound.
