In religion and sociology, a cult is a cohesive group of people (sometimes a relatively small and recently founded religious movement, sometimes numbering in the hundreds of thousands) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be far outside the mainstream, sometimes reaching the point of a taboo. Its separate status may come about either due to its novel belief system, its idiosyncratic practices, its perceived harmful effects on members, or because it opposes the interests of the mainstream culture. Other non-religious groups may also display cult-like characteristics.
In common usage, "cult" has a negative connotation, and is generally applied to a group by its opponents, for a variety of reasons. Understandably, most, if not all, groups that are called "cults" deny this label. Some anthropologists and sociologists studying cults have argued that no one yet has been able to define “cult” in a way that enables the term to identify only groups that have been claimed as problematic[citation needed].
The literal and traditional meanings of the word cult is derived from the Latin cultus, meaning "care" or "adoration", as "a system of religious belief or ritual; or: the body of adherents to same"32. In English, it remains neutral and a technical term within this context to refer to the "cult of Artemis at Ephesus" and the "cult figures" that accompanied it, or to "the importance of the Ave Maria in the cult of the Virgin." This usage is more fully explored in the entry Cult (religious practice).
In non-English European terms, the cognates of the English word "cult" are neutral, and refer mainly to divisions within a single faith, a case where English speakers might use the word "sect", as in "Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy and Protestantism are sects (or denominations) within Christianity". In French or Spanish, culte or culto simply means "worship" or "religious attendance"; thus an association cultuelle is an association whose goal is to organize religious worship and practices.
The word for "cult" in the popular English meaning is secte (French) or secta (Spanish). In German the usual word used for the English cult is Sekte, which also has other definitions. A similar case is the Russian word sekta.
The "Occult" is the oldest known religion. It is the secret doctrine and mysterious practice involving the action or influence of supernatural agencies or some secret knowledge of them, which transcend the natural senses, to seek their influence in our present or future lives, or the lives of others... The Bible teaches the Occult is from the Devil (Lev.20, Deut.18, Acts 16) ( I dont prescribe to this view but information is information)
There are Three Kinds of The Occult:
1- "Divination" (Astrology - Fortune-tellers):
The attempt to "foretell or explore the future", to shape our lives according to what is coming:
- Astrology, horoscope, zodiac, Psychics.
- Tarot cards, crystal balls, palm reading, rod and pendulum, snail shells, coconuts.
- Numerology, psychometry, dreams.
- Telepathy, clairvoyance.
2- "Magic" or "Magick":
The attempt "to control the present", our lives, the lives of others, or events of nature, by ceremonies, charms, or spells believed to have supernatural powers. Some call it "Magick" to distinguish it from the "magicians" who entertain an audience with tricks and illusions.
- White magic, black magic, sorcery, ghosts.
- Witchcraft, Wicca, witch doctors.
- Satanism, Black Mass.
- Spells, curses, potions, superstitions, charms, fetishes, talismans, amulets, prayers, spoils (despojos, riegos)...
3- "Spiritism"... "Spiritualism":
- "Spiritism" attempts "to communicate with the dead", to receive information and help from them. "Spiritualism" is the same, but with the of using Christian prayers and rites.
- Churches, Membership
- Sceance
- Ouija boars, ghosts, phantoms.
- Spiritulism and Christianity
4- "Santeria", "Macumba", "Voodoo":
These African practices have "the three kinds of occultism", with the use of Christian Saints to represent their gods because as slaves the African people were not allowed to practice their own religion so had to develop covert ways of doing so to avoid being whipped, castrated and starved.
5- Alchemy: The elixir of life and gold, can also be Occultism.
Explosion of Occultism:
Today, there is an "explosion of occultism" in the world: In the USA, there are 10,000 Astrologers, and 40 million people consult the horoscope, as reported in McCall Magazine. In San Francisco, the Satanic Church has 8,000 members. There are 20,000 "santero priests" in Miami and New York. In England there are 9,000 witches, and in France 60,000 with earnings of over $200 million per year. In Latin America there are witches (brujos), santeros, and mediums by the millions!... the Occult is practiced in many Eastern and Western cults, New Age, Theosophy, Yoga, Kabbala, Mormons, Rosicrucianism, Masonry.

The perversion of ones drives, is one answer to why people enjoy something that most people don't.
Of the crowd of black clad youths, I do not believe they actually worship or believe in Satan, that number is few and might be limited to homicidal monomaniacs. They are on an identity quest and the first step of this is to cast off the old.
It's sad really, all those people looking for some sort of initiation ritual into adult hood, having been born into a society that has done away with such.
It's about something a bit nasty, a coming to terms with sex and death as adult (you have to do both, sorry). Black and red are definitely the colours. The theory goes that males need a kick up the *** to leave the comfort of the child mentality. A painful initiation in which they get their scar. It is a genetic thing involving archetypes.
Anyway, Satan, The Horned God, Pan was not always a bad guy. He was the incumbent when Jehovah hit the scene so he became Saddam. In the tarot he is just a lesson to learn: that ones passions can lead you to the highest of your ambitions or become chains of addiction depending on how you manage them.
Probably going of base here. Hope that helps.

Guess they want what Christians would view as eternal hell - not very scientific or mathematical, sorry.
From a psychological perspective, some of these people may be just 'mis-matching' the bulk of society. Know how some people always have to take an opposing viewpoint - whatever the subject?
From a pathological perspective, anyone perpetrating harm towards others may be simply mentally ill. Not that I think the majority of evil-worshippers are - perhaps not any.

As the Imperator Palpatine puts it, "the dark side is faster, easier, persuasive..."
It is easier to get what you want not following the "rulez" and not thinking about other people.
Evil is just a part of everyday life just as helping the old lady across the street is. There is nothing paranormal about "Evil". Cults are not per se linked to evil. Take the Knights Hospitaler as an example. It's a cult and serves good (in a way).
In an other way the christian faith can be seen to be evil in a way (Take the medic from above entry)
It's the point of view which makes something good or evil.

like much in life it is all a matter of perspective what do you consider to be evil. In the U.S. the pro - life people believe that abortion is evil. I saw a report on Fox news today about a 21 year old girl who was raped in Tampa Fl. She was taken to a rape crisis centre where she was given half a dose of the morning after pill and then bravely, she went with a policeman to find the scene of the crime, while this was happening it came through on the cops console that there was an outstanding juvinile warrent for an unpaid fine. The cop immediately ARRESTED HER! she was thrown in a cell and when she asked for the second dose of the morning after pill, the chief medic told her that he or she would not give her it because it was against his rel*gi*us beliefs. I don't know about you but I would consider that to be an unspeakable act of evil and the police who arrested her after the rape really deserves to be burnt at the stake for a total and utter lack of judgement bordering on evil.
If I make any comment linking "rel*gi*n, ch*ist*ans or the things which people do in the name of etc" my answer will be struck and I will get a violition notice but I think if you have a brain you will get the point

In Hinduism, flowers constitute an important offering made to the deities. Flowers are used while doing puja at home, temples and at sacred places. In fact, rarely do we come across a puja in Hindu religion without flowers. The idol or image of the deity in temple and home is decorated with garlands of flowers and leaves. Flowers are also placed at the feet of deity and the idol is also showered with flowers. Details about the types of flowers that can be used for puja and the method in which they are to be used in puja and rituals are mentioned in the scriptures. Some flowers are associated by a particular deity; while a particular flower is never used due to a curse etc. Generally, flowers with strong odor are not used. Similarly, flowers without fragrance are also not used. Flowers that are not fully blossomed are not used. Mutilated and flowers eaten by insects are avoided. Flowers grown in a garden is considered apt for puja. Flowers collected from forest are also used. Flowers used in a Hindu puja are classified into Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. The classification is based on their color, fragrance, shape and origin. Sattva and Rajas flowers are used in daily worship. Tamas flowers are avoided and some are used during festivals. Flowers like Arka, Nandyavartham, drona, white lotus, jasmine, coral tree flowers etc are considered as Sattva flowers. The Rajas flowers include Red lotus, trumpet flowers, white thorn apple flowers etc. The Tamas flowers include ketaki, China rose, cotton plant, Kasa grass etc.

It depends upon your perspective. I know people who consider all religious people as cultists who worship something evil. It's really hard to define people as 'evil worshippers' or 'good worshippers' if their behavior is similar.
What do you think?

Not scientific or mathematic, but perhaps it could be. A body reflects that which it idealizes. Someone who takes on a property of evil or good or whathaveyou is a body imitating and idealizing itself.

For one thing, the "good" need an opposite to compare with.
Now these "evil" opposites might not do what they do if they do not enjoy it or believe they are supposed to act that way.
Also there are positive and negative "forces" or tendencies.
