The cricket's lifespan is fortunately short, about 4 weeks from pinhead to adult. We order and sell them by the 1000's every week. They have an ideal temperature range of about 68-75. Cold weather produces solid statue-like crickets, frozen in time. Hot weather produces stinky, mushy, body parts. If you live in mild, damp, climate, then crickets can reproduce all year round and you will be seeing a variety of birds and other wildlife that enjoy eating them.

They freeze. I know because I always buy them from the store for my gecko but they all freeze on the way home in the car (the heating system is slow). Sometimes I think theyre dead, but they thaw out and start hoppin around.

crickets don't come out in the winter, they either go somewhere else, where it is warmer or they hibernate. Why do you ask?
