A stranger usually, plus it's the most honest. Your friends and family are usually worried about hurting your feelings.

I feel that it's easier to take from a stranger, cause you don't have any emotional ties to that person, so it is easier to hear what they have to say without thinking that they are just being mean to you!!

I will take it only from a stranger. A friend or family would be too close for comfort.

I think a relative, because even though you can lose a friend over a big disagreement, you're stuck with family for life, and because of this, there's a tendency to be much more brutal with one another.

A stranger or an acquaitence, because that way I don't have to actually talk to them after that if their criticism hurt my feelings

So much depends on what is being critisized, but I think it would be easiest from a relative. I would know it was done for only the best reason if coming from my sister or brother.

I prefer a relative or friend because I know they love me and are only trying to help.
