howw much is it to get it done at the salon?

Well, you know the old saying "You get what you pay for!" It would be less expensive to buy an over-the-counter hair coloring kit, but you are going from black to brown which isn't easy. If not done correctly, your hair color probably would look like mud.
So, my recommendation is to go to your beauty salon and have the dye job done professionally.
Your hair is your crowning glory (another well-known phrase) and it's not something I would want to take a chance with. How your hair looks influences how you feel, which then affects all the people you interact with.

If you have jet-black hair you need to bleach it first for the best result. It will cost you about $150-200 in a good hair salon. You really don't want to not so good one, believe me.

coloring hair is a long process, going from black to brown won't be easy. I suggest that you not do it yourself, go and see your hair stylist. Also, prepare to cough up some bucks because it won't be cheap. Don't forget to condition your hair.

defineately go to a salon! sometimesw when girls do it at home it gets that weird orange color which looks so fake!
