I've recently gotten into aromatherapy, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience or ideas in making something flamable ( perhaps sawdust in wax) that would infuse our home with some good smelling scent as we burnt a fire?? ( so basically I want a handheld-- SOMETHING-- to place in the fire that would fragrance our home)

thanks,

K

Check with your local hardware store. There are products that are made to change the color and scent of a fire, and they would know them there. Don't try any home made products, as they might burn your house down.

Place your favorite scented candle in a fireproof container large enough the hold the candle wax after it has melted. Set the container behind / beside the firebox, but where it won't actually be in the flame. As the fire melts the wax it will give off it's fragrance, and after the fire goes out the wax will re-solidify and be ready for the next time you light the fireplace.

final the glass doors keeps the fire burning longer and slower. in case you have a blower it helps the warmth stay in and the blower blows the warmth out. placing out the glass doors makes the fire burn swifter, and might additionally reason the sparks to fly out onto your floor so it is likewise a secure practices ingredient. that's for a wood burning range w/ a blower. If its only a prevalent fire then it doesnt rely as a lot.yet you're able to regulate the flue to maintain the smoke out.
