i cant stand her and all my family hates her and she doesint like me but i do want to be close to my niece or nefew. how could i be able to do this? has anyone been in the same situation?

yes, and it is very sad. An older brother married a woman who never liked any of us and alienated him from us. His kids too. Very sad. He passed away and 3 months before he died I called and talked to him....we had not spoke for 25 years! I did not mention the past. Just told him how much I loved him and what he meant to me. He was 16 years older. Do not let this woman come between you and your Brother. do not let him let this happen. This insane woman waited for my brother to die to change all his dying wishes! all of the funeral everything. I was raised not to hate, but I pray to God I never see her

i am in the same situation and you know what the sad thing is that you don't really miss the kids because you won't really get to know them. I have a 5 and 3 yr old nephews (the youngest is also my godson) I have seen them on their birthdays and christmas. do the math it isnt much and unfortunately not an exxageration. the toughest thing for me is that my brother does not bring the boys around on his own because she does not allow it.

Maybe i missed the scripture in the bible that talks about you having to love your sister in law.......You don't have to like but you do have to respect her as you sister in law and as you future nieces or nephews mother so if want a relationship with the child, swallow your pride and put up with her.

Keep remembering that you couldn't have this niece or nephew without this woman.
Even if you don't like her, you'll have to show her some respect for your brother's sake and the new baby's sake.

Apparently your brother likes her enough to marry her and put his hoo ha in her piebox so I think you should just be nice to her when you are around her children,,, you dont have to like your inlaws but you should tolerate her for your brothers sake... Dont make him choose or you may lose all of them!

she is part of your family now, all this hating is not good for anyone..to truely spend time with your niece, you must realize that her blood flows in them and yours..try your best to get along with your sister in law...the rewards are awesome.

the woman that had my brothers child is a c*nt in my opinion , but I learned to except her because I love my brother's son ...thats what grown ups do
