1. Communism would have spread into more countries in Europe than it otherwise did.
2. The United States would have suffered economic ruin in the 1950s instead of economic prosperity. If Europe couldn't get jobs, they couldn't buy American goods and our economy would have collapsed
3. Europe's economic recovery would have taken well into the 1960s or 1970s without our assistance.

Quite possibly, Communist control of all Europe. Communist parties had already made an impression, since they had lead the resistance since the end of June 1941. Before that, following Comintern rules, they had done their best to obstruct resistance to the Nazis. But the USSR got invaded, so who's counting?

Communist parties were already strong in Italy and in France, and they didn't yet have the "independent" cachet that they would have in the 80s. This is only opinion, but if the Marshall Plan had not been implemented, Britain might have once again stood alone.

What is neat is that if you travel to Germany today, many of the people there are so grateful for what the Amercans did, that they will personally thank them and say things like, "You saved us from starvation."

This plan helped save so many countries, and if it wasn't implemented we problably would see many more communist countries today. Plus, much of Europe might still be in ruins today and the US, most likely, would not have became the superpower it is now.

Communism would have spread across Europe, because of Stalin. When people are poor, they tend to turn towards the Socialist/Communist side of the spectrum, but when they have money, (from the Marshall Plan) and jobs, they go for Democracy, and become Capitalistic

More of Europe would've fallen under the sway of Communism, which would've made the Soviet bloc larger and more powerful than what it was. Recovery of Europe - which was largely devastated by the war would've taken much longer.
