Fiberglass insulation is an excellent material for slowing heat transfer. All the air pockets within the insulation retard the radiation of heat, and the fiberglass itself is a poor heat conductor, so it retards the condution of the heat as well.

Ceramics, asbestos, fiberglass, or any of a number of insulating products. The best insulator is actually no material at all. A vacuum.
