Doesn't matter the kind of government. They are all crooks and thieves. However if your looking to improve life for the average citizen then your government should encourage/allow more foreign investment. The paltry sums sent back home from OFW and whatever you can rip off from tourists is not enough to improve the whole economy. You need foreign money in large chunks to make a difference. Of course PI wants sovereignty and independence but look where that got you so far. Everybody needs to quit bitchin about Gloria and focus on something entrepreneurial.

A socialist government just like Vietnam.

The Philippines has gone too deep down in total arnachy and need a strong hand to overhaul the entire system and infrastructure.

Forget human rights for a while, there will be lots of purging, ececutions of the criminal and corrupted, detention without trial of those who endanger your national security, lots of forcible eviction of the millions of homeless into new ecnomic zones in the provinces, lots of land and assets seizure asnd their reallocation to the masses.

bite that fews years of change and reforms and perhaps only can peace, security and prosperity will return in a few years for your country to become respectable and strong just like China.

I am a leftist.

Our government is like a new passenger jeep, when it is always run out of battery, gas, or oils, the problem is not on the jeep but the blame should be on the driver. Replace the driver and his "conductor" and let us see how it operates the new jeepney.
the passenger is the masses, Trust your driver and dont always dictate him how to drive or where to go, he knows what hes doing, coz he cant concentrate on his driving if you always nag him or protest otherwise the result would a fatal accident.
But the option to replace the jeep is not good. So far this is the best jeepney we ever had in Asia.

Anything except Parliamentary and unicameral. With those, you'd have the same trapos and buguks for the rest of your life. There's nothing wrong with the present system - only elect responsible people.

Thailand has Parliamentary system... what happened to them/ Czech Republic has parliamentary system... They had election 7 months ago, still don't have working gov't, and head for early elections.

For the last time, it's not the gov't stupid, it's the bums running it.

A good and honest dictator. Democracy doesn't work in poor countries.
