I live in Canada, and I have been to the US many times, and I notice it's very similar. It doesn't feel like a foreign country when I'm in the US. But I see lot's of Americans on here saying that Canada is just America's attic, and that Canada is all frozen and useless and that everyone in Canada has a strange accent and says "aboot" instead of about.

Do all Americans think that? Because Canada isn't all frozen, and most parts are just like the US especially in Southern Ontario, which is near the US. Also, most places have noticable accents, including parts of the US.

So, do all Americans think that about Canada? If you do, it's not as bad as you might think.

Hi. I'm in Edmonton. I think they don't care one way or another. At least that's the vibe I get.

some people in Canada DO say aboot instead of about...but some people in the US say "y'all" instead of "you all" or "bin" instead of "been".
You're absolutely right. We all have an accent of some kind....I may think I don't have one being from the northern midwest but some people that I've talked to from Georgia and North Carolina have said that I do.
Don't worry. I personally have no negative feelings about Canadians or Canada. And I don't think there is anything different about Canadians as opposed to the US.
Take Care....eh? (just kidding)

No Canada is not like that. I've been to Canada many times as a matter of fact I live only 5 miles from the border of Windsor Ontario... I always have a good time when I visit.. There's not a lot of difference.

I am American and I have never heard anyone say that. I have been to Canada and, just as you felt when in the U.S., I did not feel as if I were in a foreign country. I think most Americans feel that Canadians are as close to "brothers & sisters" as another country could get to us. Occasionally, I hear negative comments about this country or that, but I never hear any untoward statements about Canada/Canadians. I hope this helps answer your question.

I like Canada and would like to visit there again. The people I ran into were all very nice. I don't know what the winters are like, but in the summer BC is fantastic!
Some friends of mine took a motorcycle tour across Canada loved every minute of it.
BTW, I am from Idaho and when I went to Philadelphia the locals were commenting on MY accent. No one is better, we are all just different.

I think Canadians are cool. I like when they say "aboot" and "eh". I delt with some canadian kids over the weekend who were from Toronto. I had to do security at my mas hotel. They were cool.
I have an accent because I am Puerto Rican. My best friend is from Texas and has a deep southern accent. People with accents are cool.

If you go over to England, they have accents to us and we have accents to them. I dont think Canada is all frozen because I have never seen Canada.(Only Sarnia) I cant judge something unless I have seen it before!

Also, I think that its gret how sctrict there car seat laws are! They need to have strict car seat laws here in the states (michigan).

I definitely don't think that. I grew up in uppe Maine by the border of Canada and spent much of my youth in Edmonston and Clair NB. There are definitely some differences between the two nations but I don't think detrimentally.

Boy, you must run into some really awful Americans. No, most of us don't think that way. I'm glad we have Canada as a neighbor.
