i talked to this guy named Whit i have known him for 2 weeks (i like him) and i got him number, and today i talked to him and i got a hug :) i emailed my friends spencer ( he used to like me) i asked him if he could tell me somethings about Whit, and he said
"why do u want to know that about whit"
Is spencer just sticking up for him, or does he not want to tell me cuz he used to like me? was it a bad think for me to emial spencer and ask him? what do i do? does it sound like Whit likes me? he stares at me a lot. does it sound like spencer still likes me?

It was inconsiderate of you to ask Spencer about Whit. I sounds like Spencer likes you and Whit likes you. You should never send an email to anyone that you don't want other people to ever see. (what if Spencer sent Whit your email showing what a snoop you are?) Personally I would be a little freaked out if a guy hugged me after knowing me only two weeks and never dating. Unless he is a guy that goes around hugging everybody. Which is still a little freaky.

It might not have been the best decision to e-mail Spencer. He might be jealous that you want to go out with another guy after he liked you. Are Spencer and Whit good friends? If so, many people say that it is not "relationship etiquette" to go out with Whit after you know that Spencer used to like you. I wish you luck in your relationship and hope it works out. You seem to handle situations maturely by the way you worded your question. If you want to know something about Whit, I think you should find out from people who know him well who don't like you the way Spencer once did.

It does sound like Whit likes you, but be careful what you say or ask Spencer. If he used to like you then he probably still does and you can bet that he told Whit you asked about him. That isn't a bad thing, though. Whit was probably flattered that you are curious about him. But from now on just talk to Whit to find out more about him. Good luck!

O_O You're a mess. Did the conversation just end at what "Spencer" said to you....? People aren't mind readers here. You need to give up more details or ask a FRIEND who knows both of the guys. Or....screw Spencer since he "used" to like you. Why worry about him if you're interestd in "Whit", anyway?

Yes! That guy whit likes you OR he has other plans for you? So be careful cause Some guys just want to see how far they can get with a girl! Take it slow, you have all the time in the world to find out if this is a for real relationship of true romance OR just friendship. Never ask someone who you use to go with OR someone who liked you in a way more than friendship, cause then they either are protective about you, or jealous cause they still like you. What you should do is really blow his mind & just ask him straight out how he feels about you? Let him know you are a woman who does not have time for childlike games when it comes to your feelings. It's hard to mend a true broken heart! So, remember, Take your time & don't rush into a relationship unless you know he truly likes you or not?!

I tend to agree with you in regard to Spencer being still fond of you or he maybe jealous.
It was bad taste to ask an old boyfriend about a new one.
Can't tell about Whit, you haven't said enough.
Your letter shows you should be paying more attention in class to your ABC's, Spelling and Grammar, than worrying about boys.

I'd say you get to know the guy you like without the help of the guy's friends. Guys don't reveal useful or important information about their friends and generally don't like talking about their friend's personalities. Trust me, I'm a guy. If someone asked me about my best friend I'd say "he's a good guy", "well he's tall", "he's athletic", "he's smart", but most likely something obscure or useless: "he's a cool guy.". Why bank on the opinions of others? Go out with the guy you like, talk to him and see what you think. You don't need to have a second date if you don't want to. If you have chemistry with the guy great, if not "there are plenty of fish in the sea". Good luck.

pretty sure whit likes you other wise he wouldn't of given you his number, no if spencer still likes you hes being gaurded because he still has feelings.....

dont ask his friends for help, you are a person and so is he be real try to do it by urself, if he likes you, he will ask you to do something with him on weekends but he might freak out bcz spencer might have told him that u asked about him BAD IDEA
