If women ruled the world, it wouldn't necessarily be a *better* place; we'd just have different kinds of problems. The best goal would be for the world to be ruled by an equal mixture of women and men, each respectful of the other's input.
That said--there would be fewer wars. Though there are always exceptions, women are statistically less violent (look at some of the stats about murder, domestic violence, even the kinds of games girls like to play versus boys). There would probably be more emphasis given to education and childcare. None of those would be bad things, by any means.

I think what you are seeing is a REACTION - namely, a reaction to a male-dominated world that has a pretty ugly history of making women second class citizens.
But you're right - there's no reason to believe that if women ruled the world things would be completely different. One only need to look at Condoleeza Rice and Margaret Thatcher to see that women leaders can be just as cruel and warmongering as men.
Or take a look at Hillary Clinton, who despite her recent criticisms of the Bush administration, has been his staunchest Democratic supporter (well, her and Lieberman) in the Iraq War. For Christ's sake she even supported the Patriot Act!

A civilization on the greek island of Crete was ruled by women in the second century BC. It was very advanced for the time, and largely peaceful.
Then it disappeared. No one knows why. At least I don't.
The Amazons also were ruled by women. In fact, they were all women. Everyone knows about them, but they were even crazier than most people realize. For instance, did you know Amazon women used to cut off their right breasts so they could fire a bow better. Look it up, I'm not kidding.
So, I think that backs up a point someone made earlier about a balance of men and women.
More powerful women to go along with the powerful men = less war.
Nothing but women = crazy-one-breast land.

I feel offended when people say that, too. Maybe they're just thinking women would HAVE to do a better job than some of the men that have been running things up til now.

The real truth to this matter is God put ADAM to have dominion over HIS creation.
Man-kind is sometimes forgetful of the fact that this world is not our HOME, we are just passing through. Our treasure is laid up somewhere beyond the blue. Jesus will return and beckon all before the judgment seat.
It seems like everybody wants to rule this world.
We are all equal in God's eyes.

Face the truth. Men are more macho/egotistical, thus are more prone to corruption. I think the world would be lots more peaceful and compassionate if women were in control

I use to believe that women would think twice before sending their kids off to die in some stupid war. But Mrs. Thatcher changed my mind of that
