Are they a good rock band :), better than Metallica?

I wouldn't say they're better than Metallica, but it's based on your opinion. Megadeth is awesome, you will like em, but if you don't like them. Then "Houston, we have a problem." Both Metallica and Megadeth are great artist. I hope their new albums would hit #1 on the Billboard Charts and hope the media would talk about the 2, because I'm tired of all this bullcrap in the radio & tv.
What's great about Megadeth is Dave's voice & songs which is "in your face" style and I love his guitar style. Also, while most of the people sing about their problems, Megadeth sings about the problems with world, politics, and his problems too.
A new fan, that's cool.
I recommend their following songs because I say its their best

Dude they kick ***. I would not say they are better then Metallica. Id say they are pretty much tied. Im awed by the fact they are still together now. as they at ounce did break up due to an injury Guitarist/Vocalist Dave Mustaine sufferred to his hand. Doctors even told him he most likely would not play again. Shows the true drive and love of the music buy Dave. Wich is most likely why they are so damned good. Check out thes albums. Peace sells but whos Buying, Rust in Peace,The System has failed, so Far So Good So What, Countdown to Extinction. Also if you want to see them play live Id check out the Rude Awakening DVD as it is awsome.

Being a new fan and already thinking deth is better than Metallica, congrats to you. For some bands I would say check out Iron Maiden they are awesome

Depends, Overall Megadeth is making better music. But 10 years ago Metallica was better.

Megadeth is my favorite rock band!
WAY better than Metallica,IMO. I dont even like Metallica,except a few scattered songs.
My two favorite albums are :
"Cryptic Writings" and "Countdown to extinction".

megadeth is a good band. dave mustaine was in metallica back in 1981 but they kicked him out for a drinking problem

Better than new metallica but no one and I mean no one is better than old metallica. Megadeth rocks.
