I have a dsl modem i run a speed test and it told me that my speed is 500 kpbs
is there any trick that i can make to increase my speed
Maybe i could change the configuration of my modem or something
or my speed really depends in my dsl modem
my dsl modem is speedstream 5100

please help me out i don't think that software can increase my speed.
Maybe i shoul try to use a different dsl modem

You can increase your speed by fine tuning your computer. For example, when was the last time you ran disk cleanup or disk defragmenter? Next right click your task bar, select task manager and tell me how many programs you have running. If it is over 42, that is too many and it slows you down. To stop junk from running at startup, if you have XP type "msconfig" in the run box. Then click the startup tab. Uncheck all the boxes and restart.
You may have to recheck some of the boxes if, for example, your printer stops working.
