He's a famous American author who wrote several bestselling novels; some were made into tv movies and miniseries. And yes, I'm really angry about the troops losing their lives in Iraq too., and then absolute nonsense proposal to send 20,00+ more into the war?? Bipartisan decision-making indeed.

yes, very sad. my mom always read his books and got me hooked on them when i was in college. he was great.
