Abercrombie is my favorite store. I've heard they force kids to work like they do in China. In China they force kids to work. Many die because they get their hands cut off and are totured and what not... but Abercrombie can't be like that! Also, a rumor is circulating my school saying they make black people work in the back. I have proof that they don't. Well, mentel proof that I can't legally prove, but it still counts! Okay, anyways, I have seen a hispanic girl working as a greeter at the front door. But does any one have proof that they force little kids under 15 to work and do they really make all black people work in the back where nobody can see them? Truely, I can't believe it, but I want some one to point me in the right direction. I don't know why I'm asking this question because no matter what the answer is I'm still going to shop there. LOL. I thank who evr took the time to read this. You really listened to me and put up with my moaning... Or you just checked to your email:)

I DOUBT that an African-American kid would agree to work behind a door for a cheap labor. An African-American kid is most likely to reject cheap labor jobs more than any other race, BECAUSE, African-Americans have the mentality to think that they are being used, because of their history even when they are not. They will mostly likely be Mexicans working. Not Blacks.

First, I can't believe you said that you would still shop there no matter what? Do you have no soul lol? At least your honest I guess.

They definitly do NOT make anyone of specific race work in the back or not; my only guess is that this is a really stupid rumor.

But I can not say anything about where the clothes are made. It is something that you should look into and promote change if it is found that inhuman child labor is being used- then that could make up for your soulless comment about not caring and buyinh clothes there no matter what :-)

Edit: I would like to add that I have had black friends work there, and they loved them there, because they were very preppy, fashionable, and pretty boys. Likewise I have seen hispanics and asains too. I really don't beleive for a second that they are racist, at least from the stores that Ive been to in my areas. But, I will say that I'm sure they discriminate based on looks no doubt. How would they sell their crap if the people working there were fat and had bad hygeine... sorry but it doesn't sell at a store that has high priced (relatively speaking) clothing. Thats why they want the most beautiful, fashionable people to work there; after all its a business and they want as much $$ as the bastards can get.

All that being said, let it be known that I never said I agree with that. In fact, I think its immoral but I think most things in the business world are, thats just life in 2007.

haha! no, maybe they do make blacks work in the back in another person's area but where i live there is a lot of diversity so all races are seen in the front of the abercrombie store. as for the child labor, it is true in some parts of asia and stuff but abercrombie doesn't force it, the asian government (or whatever country) does.

It might be true a lot of companies have foreign kids work for 15 cents an hour. About only hiring Blacks to work in the back....I'm not sure. I know that they try to hire attractive people. They made this guy I used to work with work in the back.

I know that they used child labor in the past, like American Eagle. I've also heard that they make "ugly" people work in the back. There was a big lawsuit (like $50 million) against them for not hiring Blacks, Asians and Hispanics but I'm not sure if they have changed.

I have a couple of friends who worked at A&F, and they've both told me it was the worst job they ever had. I don't know much about the issue of child labor, but I do know that they discriminate based on appearence. One of my friends witnessed them categorizing job applications between a piles of ugly and attractive people. I have no proof that they force child labor or discriminate against blacks, but I wouldn't put it past them. That wouldn't surprise me if they actually did that.
