I'm 15, 5'1," and weigh 83 pounds. I've been told I need to gain weight. How much should I weigh? Also, even though I know I need to gain weight, I have a habit of counting my calories, so I feel guilty for EVERYTHING I put in my mouth, even if it's a banana or an apple. What should I do to help myself?

I think you should seek medical help, outside of the internet. It seems like your on the verge of an eating disorder. Talk to your parents and go see a doctor that can help you eat properly. I know you don't think that you could get an eating disorder, but it's a very possible and real thing, go see a professional asap.

You should weigh 100 pounds to be within the normal range. It sounds like you have some body image issues you need to work out. For a 15 year old to be that concerned about every little thing you eat is not psychologically healthy. You may want to talk to someone in the guidance office about how to get some help with the body image problem.

I think you should see a Dr. Sounds as if you have an eating disorder. You most certainly should NOT be counting calories and feeling guilty about food.
And the fact you have not menstruated since June 6 is a very big red flag to me, you could be doing irreversable damage to your body. When you don't menstruate you don't produce proper hormones and you could be causing damage to your bones.
Please seek counseling soon.

Get help quick (counceling, medical, etc)...you are anorexic. If you told your healthcare provider the few short sentences you told us....it would be all they need to hear to know. And yes, I am a healthcare provider.

You need medical attention. You need to speak with your doctor and also see a therapist.
