I am a single 26-year-old female and am considering moving to Devner or Boulder. I would like to live in a "downtown" area (walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, etc.). Any suggestions? Thanks!

Denver/Boulder is not that great for walking everywhere... you could certainly live in LoDo or Cherry Creek and be able to walk to numerous places, but those neighborhoods are VERY expensive - if you can afford to live there, great! Otherwise, there are other nice urban neighborhoods with more reasonable property or apartments, but the dining selections would be limited after awhile. You really need a car to best get around here.

A very nice neighborhood is Stapleton, a new development where the old airport used to be, about 15-20 minutes drive to downtown. All my young yuppie friends live there!

You could live in Boulder and walk to pretty much everything downtown. I live a few blocks north of Pearl and don't pay too much for a 2BR, 1BA townhome. Although you could probably find cheaper housing some place in Denver, I think if you want to actually live within walking distance of downtown, you should live in Boulder. There's plenty to do here and it's a great place to live. Don't let anyone tell you that it's too expensive. I'm a grad student on a grad student budget and get along just fine.
