I'm trying to buy a place. I live in a big city and there are a number of pretty pricey condos in the middle of the town. In general are people able to sell them?

You can but the market is much better for you to own a home. Make sure to look for new structures going up around the area in the place your looking. New homes tend to increase pre-built home values in an area, exception not the rule. So your best bet is to look into up coming building developments in the area.
