When is the best time to use those Biore face strips? Every Sunday and Wednesday I do a mini facial at home. I will clean my face, exfoliate, steam, put a mask on, toner, then moisturizer. I want to try these pore strips because I have some blackheads that I cant remove but when is the best time to do them? Before I steam my face or after I put on a mask or at the beginning. So can someone let me know. Thanks

as a licensed esthetician and makeup artist I can positively 100% say use the strips after you steam the skin will be softer and the blackheads are more easily removed, you never put a mask on before extractions, removing blackheads are a form of extraction, why would you tighten your skin/pores up only to make it harder to remove something? masks only temporarily tighten but why make it more difficult....
cleanse
exfoliate
steam
extract (or in your case Biore strips)
cleanse again
mask
rinse
Toner
oil free moisturizer
eye cream
thats a mini facial!
good luck

I've used those pore strips before I started using Accutane.
Anyhow, after steaming sounds like a great time because the nose strips will stick on better but you want to be careful about getting it on. If you have too much moisture on your fingers or get any on the strip then it starts to come apart (too much water will make it gooey). You want your nose to be really wet.
You should use a mask afterwards. I found that using a mask would close up pores and I wouldn't get a lot out afterwards as I would by steaming.
I didn't get the results I wanted with nose strips - well not until a month or two of a weekly unplugging.
If you also have acne, you might want to see a dermatologist. Like I said, I'm on Accutane for acne and everything else. I'm on my third week of doses and my nose has cleared up! No more blackheads!

Actually, after the steaming would be ideal, the steam is going to open up the pores and loosen the dead skin and dirt that is clogging them. DO NOT use AFTER your mask, especially if it is a clay mask, the ingredients (usually charcoal) close up your pores! So be sure to do it before the mask for sure. And I would only try the strips if you do not have sensitive skin, everyone is different, what works for me may not for you but.....Something that works wonders for me is Clinique's Pore Refining Lotion. It's to be used twice a day, just in your main concerned areas, a dab will do ya! It's oil-free and around $18.50 for a tube that will last you a while. If you used that am & pm for about 3-5 days and THEN use a strip, you'll be amazed at what you get out of your pores, it's insane! But definitely try the refining lotion for a few days, steam your face and then follow with a Biore Strip. And yes, I have tried all of the face strips, Biore is the best I have found. Good Luck

I would avoid the pore strips because you are already doing a full facial and pore strips can be irritating.
To minimize blackheads, consider using a clay mask w/ benzoyl peroxide (Neutrogena makes one) on your nose.
A toner with salicylic acid will also help keep your pores clear.
Neutrogena also makes an overnight treatment w/ salicylic acid you might want to apply a few times a week.
Here's a link to the company website:

There are probably other brands you can use but I'm most familiar with this one.

1 & 2.) i did not have a nasty response but some skin would come off in case your dermis is dry. 3.) they take away some however in my experience they just dispose of the ones on the edges of the nostril and not the entrance/high. Four.) i failed to realize a change within the size of my pores but blackheads can come again. 5.) in my expertise, the blackheads got here back in every week or so. You just need to preserve making use of the strips or a facial cleanser that is mainly designed for the healing of blackheads.

Personally, I didn't care for the Biore pore strips.
But anyhow, if I were you I think I'd incorporate them into my routine on another day, since you're already doing a lot of exfoliating on Sundays and Wednesdays. You don't want to overdo it as this will just cause more problems :)
