The roof of my mouth is swollen. The left side of it. When my mouth is closed it's also throbbing a little bit. It hurts, too! What is it?

I have had that too! Do you see a swollen looking blue vein? I think mine is due to allergies! In the summer I am allergic to poplar and then I get the sore swelling on the roof of my mouth just like you do

You might have had something too hot to drink, or food too spicy that burnt your mouth a little. I would suggest drinking cool or cold liquids for a while, or suck on an ice cube.

It could be as simple as you've scratched it with some food you've eaten, like tortilla chips or hard pretzels or Cap'n Crunch cereal. If it's still like that in a day, go see a doctor -- it could be an infection that you wouldn't want to get really bad.
