The best way is to make sure you and your partner are healthy and you are a good weight (May cause complications later on), when you ovulate most women can feel pain in one side of where there ovaries are so that is a good time to have intercourse generally 1 week after you period.
If you have irregular periods and are not sure when yo ovulate 1. You may want to talk to gynaecologist, and if you have and everything is OK. 2. you can actually buy test from the chemist or drug store and test if you are ovulating if you are then go for it.
Cut or Quit the fags and stop the alcohol intake and start on some folic acid if you are trying to get pregnant and good luck

track your menstrual cycle to learn what days you are most likely to ovulate. find out if your cycle is always the same length or irregular.... Most people ovulate in the middle of about a 28 day cycle. you can get pregnant when you ovulate and about 1 day after. sperm can live up to 3 or more days after sex, so you can have sex before you ovulate and still get pregnant. knowing stuff like that will help. also, be sure to get a pap smear and a regular check up at your doctor's office, and start on prenatal vitamins.

Go and see your gy-n and find out your ovadiating dates and plan some of your romantic interludes on those dates. I.ve also been told to check your body temp for some reason or other, but I'd say relax unwind with your favoriate mood enhancer, be it music,wine, candles,hot oils,incense,bubble baths,or whatever, but of course I hope your partner wants what you do or you're courting diaster BIG TIME!!!!! Please want it for the right reasons because a child is not a marriage or relationship mender nor should be used as a trap or to make yourself more adult if you're young or more young if you're a little bit pass prime and you are afraid your biological clock is running out!!!
