It's the same as the difference between the Premiership, and the FA Cup in England, if you're familiar with those. The Primera Liga consists of home-and-away matches against the 19 other teams in the Liga, while the Copa del Rey is a domestic cup competition which procedds in a knockout format, and is open to divisions other than the Primera Liga.

The Spanish Primera Liga is the top national league in Spain and probably in the world. It is like the Premiership And Italian Serie A, where they play 38 games over a season playing each team twice, once at home and once away. The Copa del rey is the most prestigious cup competition in Spain again like the FA cup of England and Coppa Italia. Hope this clears it out for you.

Copa Del Rey is pretty much useless trophy as far as i am concerned, I'm more excited about the game itself which promises to be a very fascinating one, and the fact that it is Guardiola's last game in charge of the team, I hope both teams give him the best send-off, he deserves it. Also I don't care one bit if we lose the final as long as both teams play a good game, that would be good enough for me.
