I have chrome cleaner, but I heard that you have to clean it first with soap and water?

I saw this on Mythbuster, Use tin foil and coke. It's suppose to be a great way to clean chrome. It was shown side by side with a leading chrome cleaner and the coke did a better job of taking rust off and shining the chrome.

Go to the automotive store or that section of a department store and get you some car chrome cleaner and polisher. I use it all the time for cleaning and for prevention on new chrome.

Unless they are grimey like the chrome on a motorcycle pre cleaning them is not necessary. For a quick clean try windex and a dry soft cloth.

whitening toothpaste works, other wise they make chrose restorer, polishing stuff that comes in a tube, probably find it in the auto department. good luck
