Yes, a woman could be elected President of the US. Will a woman be elected any time soon? No. Only half of the people who are eligible to vote, bother to, and they're mainly over 60. They're a pretty traditional crowd of voters, since they grew up in the 40's and 50's. Attitudes have changed, but the voters haven't.

A woman will be elected president sooner or later. She will have to be liked by most people to be elected unlike the two women who have run for president in the past:

Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton

Women have not been elected president, because politics is a nasty business and a good choice for a woman president could not be found.

Let's elect hillary and have another clinton make a joke out of the whitehouse.

Yes, but unfortunatly its not likely to be for several more years, if not decades...

the only thing preventing a woman from being elected is the voters choice between men an women. its completely rational for a woman to be elected, but could be socially challenging.

Sure a woman could be elected, I'm voting for Judge Judy. Now we need to talk her into running.

I think before 9/11 yes, because the countries we seem to be at odds with now have no respect for women and view them as second class citizens. With that being said they would challenge her and her response will be questioned because she is a woman. If with force it's to prove she isn't. With Diplomacy then she is too soft
