AMD is better because the amd processor can proses 2 or more instructions for second and intel just 1 .
the speed of a computer is not the speed of the processor, the real speed is how many intructions the computer process in a second;
beside the 2 corel of intel can't comunicate each other but the 2 corel
of amd can communicate each other and have RAM memory inside of processor but intel processors not.
intel 2 corel just can comunicate each other through the Front Side Bus.

They both have the good points and bad. AMD was the leader for years until the new Intel Core 2 cpu. Reliability is really null and redundant, as both maker's cpus are fine. Right now, Intel has the fastest, AMD has the budget machines covered.
Goto www.tomshardware.com for the cpu benchmarks. If money is no object, Intel Core 2 cpu, if on a budget, probably AMD cpu. And note, if a gamer, it will be the video card that will be the most important part of the computer, cpu 2nd, then memory. 1gb ram is really minimum now, 2gb recommended. Again www.tomshardware.com for benchmarks on video , cpu, and guides on what to buy.

That's a hard one! I have both AMD and Intel and like them both. I think the amd is less money over Intel, at one point Intel was sliding a little but has improved a great deal. When you decide which one get it with the dual core!! Alot faster!

AMD recently bought the shares and the whole company for ATI Graphic producer

ATI is know for superb graphics even through low power

Nividia is crap...power wasters and not for the beginner gamer(also very expensive) They sell graphic cars even over $600.00

Intel....well, they have the Dual-Core technology, but who really needs that much power?? It;s only recommended for extreme gamers and Business. They also tend to break down, even at the slightest touch. I had a Intel Dual--Core for $850.00 and broke after a month, even if it was installed by manufactor

AMD is great quality, good warranty, and price range is for everyone
