Call your local vets & ask! When I worked for vets, they told me they would help me out with school, if I decided to go...maybe you could get a job as an assistant, see if you like the work, then consider going the extra mile to become a certified Vet Tech.

The best Vet Tech school is The Bel Rea Institute in Denver, CO. It was the first school of its kind and started by the vets that are on the show Emergency Vets on Animal Planet. Distance learning programs don't give you the hands on learning that is required for this vocation.
